This 17th century treat had for a long time suffered from an owner incapable of keeping the palace in shape. Offers of help with funding from the community were neglected and when a fire struck one of the wings even the fire fighters had been chased off with threats. Luckily the whole place wasn't burned down to the ground. The old owner is now living in a home for the elderly and a new owner already started the much needed renovations.
At the time of our visit we shared the château with two young men in box-fresh sneakers recording a music video on the second floor. Their sound system blasted bass tunes that could be heard from afar and they had parked their car right in front of the palace gate. All this made the visit quite uneasy. After a few shots on the ground floor we left promptly. Too bad, but there are plenty of pics from the upper floors out there, I comfort myself with.
