[EN] In the late 60s the housing area “The Fortress” was constructed in the community of Olofström in Blekinge, southern Sweden. The name comes from the square placement of the four blocky buildings with a common ground in the middle, resembling a walled in court yard. In the late 90s two of the structures were demolished, one remade to student housing and the last was for a period used by Volvo IT. Also the community social services used apartments for immigrant housing. At the time of our visit in May 2009 it had been abandoned for about five years and was quite badly vandalized. The first steps of the demolition had just begun but the crew let us take a look inside.
